Copy Rich Text for Medium, LinkedIn, Gmail, Notion, and Google Docs — formatting pastes in directly. Copy Markdown for Dev.to, GitHub, Hashnode, and Substack, which read raw markdown natively.
Medium, LinkedIn, and Gmail don't parse markdown syntax — they read HTML off the clipboard. Copy Rich Text writes both, so bold, headings, and links survive the paste.
Markdown to rich text or .docx — or a .docx file, or rich text pasted from Google Docs, Word, or any webpage, back to clean Markdown for Dev.to, GitHub, or Hashnode.
Every conversion runs in this browser tab. No file is ever uploaded, no account, no server-side storage.
Those editors don’t interpret markdown syntax like ** or # — they only render formatting that arrives as HTML on the clipboard. Pasting raw markdown text pastes the literal characters. “Copy Rich Text” writes both HTML and plain text to your clipboard, so the paste lands formatted instead of as plain text.
No. Markdown rendering, rich-text clipboard copying, Word (.docx) generation, and Word-to-Markdown conversion all run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and no account is required.
The tool is tuned and tested for posts up to about 7,000 words. Longer documents still convert, but the live preview and Word export may take a little longer to generate.
Use “Copy Markdown” instead. Dev.to, GitHub, Hashnode, and Substack read raw markdown syntax natively, so pasting the rich-text version there isn’t necessary and the plain markdown works as-is.
Yes. Switch to the “Rich Text & Word to Markdown” tab. Drop in a .docx file, or click the box and paste content copied from Google Docs, Word, Notion, or any webpage (Ctrl+V). The tool extracts headings, bold/italic text, links, lists, and tables into clean Markdown, including bold/italic from Google Docs, which doesn’t use standard HTML formatting tags.
Images referenced by an external URL aren’t embedded in the generated .docx, since the tool never fetches or uploads anything over the network. The tool flags this after export so you know to add images manually in Word.
