Free · Private · No re-encoding
Create a clean copy of your MP4 or MOV by removing supported metadata, including location details, editing records, timestamps, and embedded Content Credentials. Your picture and sound stay intact. Your video stays on your device.
For supported videos up to 10 minutes and 250 MB. Metadata cleanup cannot guarantee removal of a platform's AI label or watermark.

MP4, MOV, M4V · Up to 10 minutes · Up to 250 MB · One at a time
No upload, account, installation, or re-encoding.
Removes supported file metadata, including recognized embedded C2PA boxes. Does not guarantee removal of LinkedIn or other platform AI labels.
Keep the encoded video and audio. No compression settings, rendering queue, or generational quality loss.
Your file stays in your browser. A dedicated worker processes it without freezing the page.
Re-inspect the container, then compare every byte outside the metadata edits against your original.
See which supported metadata categories were cleared and which information may remain. Save a JSON report.
Use an original MP4, MOV, or M4V export. Cleanup begins automatically, one video at a time.
See the supported metadata categories cleared, what stays intact, and any remaining limitations.
Check the copy, save it to your device, and keep your original for your records.
A video can carry metadata about its creation, editing software, location, and provenance. This tool clears supported records inside the container. It does not change what the video depicts or establish who created it.
LinkedIn displays Content Credentials on images and videos with C2PA information. A credential can describe capture or editing history, including AI use. Removing embedded metadata cannot change an existing post, and other provenance signals may survive.
Use files you own or have permission to edit, keep appropriate disclosures when publishing, and review the result before sharing. Metadata cleanup does not make AI-generated footage human-made.
Choose one MP4, MOV, or M4V video. The tool inspects its container, clears supported metadata, and verifies the output locally. Download the cleaned copy and optionally save its JSON report. Your original file is unchanged.
Yes, when the video uses a supported self-contained container and is no longer than 10 minutes and no larger than 250 MB. Both limits apply. Large 4K exports may exceed the size limit even when the video is short.
It removes recognized embedded C2PA credential boxes and supported container metadata. If a label depends on those embedded credentials, cleanup may affect a future upload, but that outcome is not guaranteed. It cannot change labels on existing posts or remove every provenance signal. C2PA credentials can describe ordinary editing as well as AI use; their presence alone does not prove a video is AI-generated.
There is no decoding, re-encoding, resizing, or compression. The tool checks that every byte outside approved metadata edits matches the original, including encoded video and audio, sample tables, rotation, and color configuration. A damaged original is not repaired by this tool.
Metadata boxes are replaced by equally sized empty padding, and supported date fields and handler names are zeroed. Keeping the file layout intact preserves the offsets that players use to find video and audio. This is a metadata cleaner, not a video compressor.
Supported user-data and movie/track metadata containers, recognized C2PA and Adobe XMP UUID boxes, movie and track creation/modification dates, media handler names, and nonempty padding. User metadata can include GPS, titles, author names, software details, thumbnails, or chapter descriptions. The report lists categories found; it does not claim each individual field was present.
Visible logos, invisible watermarks, data inside encoded picture or sound, subtitle and timed-metadata tracks, filenames, filesystem dates, unknown UUID boxes, and unsupported metadata locations may remain. Required playback data is retained. Do not treat the output as an exhaustive privacy audit or proof of human authorship.
No video data is uploaded. Processing runs in a browser worker using bounded reads, without downloading a video codec or contacting a processing service. Clear the workspace, refresh, or close the page to release its references to your files. Copies you download remain wherever your browser saves them.
The file extension alone does not establish support. Fragmented MP4, encrypted video, external media references, compressed movie headers, missing duration or chunk data, and malformed containers are rejected. Export a standard self-contained MP4 from your editor. WebM, MKV, AVI, and audio-only files are not supported.
